World class saxophonist Simon Currie introduces you to 16 funky sax phrases, that are shown to you with 2 cameras, and 6 great backing tracks. You will be show step by step how to play the phrases in a call his call response technique, with demonstrations on lip and finger slurs and funky tonguing techniques.
This course takes you through 16 phrases step by step, with funky backing tracks and on screen written music to guide you. We go through the Blues and Pentatonic scales, and they are displayed on the video during the exercises. There are “go solo” tracks with every new section that can be played with the video, and are are also downloadable.
This method is very easy for you to pick up the licks as they are repeated over and over again until you have got it. You can re-run the video if you find it useful, and will become more inventive, more fluid and more fun to listen to getting that sexy funky sax sound.
Simon Currie has toured the world with the musical giants, and is currently the saxophonist with Paul Jones and The Manfreds. He is also a very experienced sax teacher who is able to be very patient and methodical, introducing each lecture and demonstrating to you the next group of phrases and scales.
