Learn Basic Self-Defense
This course was developed to introduce basic self-defense techniques to everybody. Unlike our course titled “Learn How to Overcome an Assailant” which focuses on counters to grabs, chokes, and holds, this course focuses on defending against and using striking techniques. As such, the focus of this course is more general than our Women’s Self-Defense course.
It is very unlikely that a man will be grabbed and held in a one-on-one physical altercation. However, everyone, including men, women, and children, run the risk of an attacker striking them. It does not matter if the strike is a punch or a slap, what matters are the angles of attack that the strike follows.
We start by introducing five blocks that will allow you to protect yourself from most situations that you may encounter. Then we teach you various strikes to use in a counter attack. Finally, we explain vital point striking and the locations that you should aim for in order to do the most damage with the least amount of force.
The goal of these lessons is not to teach you how to destroy an attacker. Instead, we strive to teach you to do enough damage to stagger the attacker so that you can escape the physical altercation and seek help from the authorities.
