QGIS for Beginners #2:Georeference, Digitize in QGIS3 +eBook
Join me, a geography and GIS researcher, teacher, modeler and consultant since 1993, in my six-step process to digitize your own paper maps using equipment every office has.
I’ll have you georeferencing in QGIS and on-screen (heads up) digitizing in QGIS, using your own maps, in no time.
I teach you the beginner basics of digitizing your own maps in QGIS using videos, an 87 page eBook and a teaching dataset. It’s a step-by-step follow-along style QGIS tutorial.
I’ll teach you the exact QGIS digitizing and QGIS georeferencing methods I’ve used for aboriginal heritage, ecological, wastewater, infrastructure, housing and demographic studies. The maps I digitized allowed for site level assessment and often spatial modelling as well. They brought new (often critical) understanding to each project.
That could be you too! Imagine what would be like to digitize your own maps, yourself, today, without the wait, hassle and expense of finding someone else to digitize it for you.
Here’s what some of the 3400+ students in this QGIS tutorial have to to say about my teaching style…
“Picked up new ways of digitising, thank you.” – Mark L
" Well explained. Short but complete course on how to georeference and digitize. " – Jonas V
" I just finished a college level GIS course that taught me every thing I’ve learned in this excellent series of courses, but it cost 10 times as much. Great course and very informative!" – Christopher C
" A very good beginners course which gives a good amount of detail regarding the GIS theory. I enjoyed the content that was supplied and found myself learning quickly and spending lots of time in between lectures playing around with what I had just been taught.” - Stravos L.
" Good course! The instruction is clear and engaging and the exercises reflect real-world application.” – Anna R
"Congratulations on the clarity of the handouts and videos; they make it possible to easily follow very complex sequences of commands. Excellent introduction to georeferencing and digitizing maps." - GB
