Coronation Course Racing (CCR) is a unique means of horse racing where participants ride a predetermined course of obstacles and obstacles are placed on the ground rather than there being an actual track. Generally, the course consists of fences, gates, walls, and other obstacles, with a timer placed at the start of each lap. Depending on the type of course and the distance being run, some other obstacles may be included such as a river, a ditch, or a set of hurdles. Races such as the Coronation Course are extremely popular in Europe, where they have a long and storied history. As such, they are slowly gaining traction in other parts of the world, slowly becoming one of the more popular and beloved horse racing events around.
